Why Parla exists.
Online shops have chatbots that recite a FAQ, and customers who ask what they would ask a sales assistant: “does it run large?”, “does this go with that?”, “where is my parcel?”. In between, abandoned carts and customer-service emails waiting for Monday.
Parla is built to do a sales assistant's job, not an answering machine's: read the real catalogue, advise, add to the cart, answer about an order, and speak out loud for the customers who, on mobile, don't feel like typing. And to do it without ever making things up: when it doesn't know, it says so and hands over.
How it is built.
On your data, live
No copy of the catalogue to sync: the plugin reads your products, prices, stock and orders where they are, at the moment the customer asks.
Hosted in Europe
The servers are in Germany (Hetzner). The providers for the model, the voice, emails and payment are listed in the privacy policy, with their region, and a GDPR data processing agreement applies to every customer.
Careful with orders
No order details without the customer's order number and email. Addresses are masked before they reach the model. Your sales figures are calculated on your side, in your shop.
Honest about what it is
It says it's an AI assistant, in the chat header and at the start of every call, as the EU AI Act requires. You give it a first name, not a false identity.
Open code on the shop side
The WordPress plugin is published on the official WordPress.org directory, under the GPL, and its code is readable on GitHub. Nothing that runs on your site is hidden.
A person who answers
No ticket lost in a queue: an email to contact@askparla.com gets an answer from a person within one working day, and it's the same person who builds the product.
